Best Way to Sync Files between NAS and iPad?
I recently picked up a 2017 iPad 4G on a bundle deal when my wife got her iPhone 8. I’m an attorney, and all the discovery we’re getting in cases is coming in digitally anyway, so my plan was to use the iPad to replace physical files when I go to court. Everything is going to be .pdf/.doc/.jpg, and I need to be able to view, and use pages to edit the .doc files. My question is- what is the best setup to go about this?
The computers at the office are all running windows 10 (non-pro), and the files are being stored on an NAS hooked to the office network.
My first thought was Google Drive, but GD said the files it syncs with must be on the local computer, not a networked drive. Windows 10 requires “pro” to auto sync files between a local drive and networked drive.
I’d like to stay away from icloud because I want to be able to get into the files on my phone (android)/home PC (windows), and ideally, I would like to just have a directory on the NAS /rockingsince1984files/client name/ and access the files directly through there, so they can simply be dragged and dropped into a “closed clients” folder when I’m done with it. Would I be best off trying to set up a FTP or something similar for the NAS and accessing it directly through that, or is there a good way to get Google Drive to sync with a folder on an NAS?
