I’ve just bought the iPad Pro (2nd gen) and it’s very powerful. But I’m curious to limitations for iOS versions of Mac/Windows programs
I get that some apps are going to be only partially fully featured, like say, photoshop or lightroom and that’s okay but even then it seems awfully fast, on par with my Galaxy Note 8 for some things and in generally, a lot faster.
What I’m wondering is what are its limitations? I know this seems odd but I’ve seen some ports of PC games, as in supposedly (For the most part) fully fledged versions of them. And they all run fine more or less from what I’ve read/seen. My best example is XCom – it’s years old, yes but that thing can’t run properly on modern day intergrated GPUs for the most part but runs fine on iPad. Which really seems interesting to me.
So what’s going on here? Is that a normal level of performance, IE outside of really demanding apps (if there’s anything close to CAD on iOS that would be an example) like an art app with 50+ layers with 600dpi or something insane, am I right in expecting the performance to be more or less the same?
