Upgrade iPad Mini (1st Gen) to iPad 6th Gen?
Hello fellow Redditors! I’m on a dilemma whether I should get the new iPad 6th Gen which goes for $329 and add $99 for the Pencil as an upgrade for my current iPad Mini. I first bought my iPad Mini 1st gen back in 2012 (a little while after it released) as a device for casual browsing, watch/stream videos, reading some manga, reading lecture notes (using Adobe Reader or Keynote) and taking notes using OneNote. My iPad Mini still does hold up until today and I can still go through an entire typical day at uni (6-7 hrs) with around 20-25% battery to spare from fully charged. The only gripe I have is the iOS version capped at 9.3.5 and most apps on the App Store now requires a minimum of iOS 10 or 11, which kind of sucks (but I understand why). So should I jump on the wagon for the new 6th gen iPad with iPad pencil? Is the total cost worth it for what I’m doing (a heavy note taker, casual video streaming/watching and casual browsing)? I’m looking at around $428 without taxes yet. Thank you!
