Genius Bar appointment time/purpose
I live nowhere near an Apple store but my MBP needs a new battery. I’m carrying it with me on holiday this summer to have the battery replaced.
Question about Genius Bar appointments:
1. How far in advance can they be made? Seems to be 2-3 days tops.
2. Can the purpose of the meeting be part of the appointment, as in “model number, paying to replace battery”, or do I have to wait for a “genius” to agree with me that I’m buying a new battery before it will be considered?
Where I’m staying is a two-hour drive from where the Apple store will be and I’m only there for three weeks. In a perfect world I’d pre-schedule an appointment and the battery is already ordered/in stock, but it sounds like Apple doesn’t trust customers to determine what they want to pay for for service.
Sorry for negative tone – I love my Macs, but if you’re geographically removed from an Apple store, their service (online and phone) is useless, unable to even answer my second question.
