Is it just me or does the iPhone reddit app use a crazy amount of data?
I have been monitoring my data usage recently and it seems like the reddit app is consuming a abnormally large amount of data. I have auto play of videos disabled and I generally don’t click on articles just mostly text based subreddits and checking out comments. Yesterday was a typical day of browsing and i used 250mb of Mobile data. I have this app my data manager that tracks data usage by app. It doesn’t specifically say reddit is the culprit but there is 180mb of data assigned to streaming media.
Today I did a comparison and used safari instead of the reddit app to browse reddit. I only used 6mb as of 12pm where typically it would be 80mbs at that point. I then clicked the reddit app by accident and closed it right away. My data usage instantly jumped to 22mb with 15mbs of streaming data.
Is this happening to anyone else or is something messed up with my settings? I have background app refresh set to WiFi only and auto load videos disabled in the reddit app.
