An open Letter to Apple Inc. concerning iOS 11.4
As a long time customer, I would like to suggest that the following steps be taken to address the serious issue with battery drain following the installation of iOS 11.4:
1. Admit there is an issue, tell us what you know about it, and a time frame when we *might* expect a fix.
2. Stop the roll-out of 11.4 in it’s current state to devices you know might be impacted.
3. If the fix won’t be ready soon, re-sign 11.3.1 to allow customers who want to downgrade to be able to do so. Provide best practices on setting up an existing phone, it’s installed apps, and layout as a new phone, as this may be needed.
4. Conduct an internal review of the iOS dev team’s QA and software release process to suggest improvements so that a problem of this magnitude has less of a chance of happening in the future.
