iPhone 6 Question
I just had my battery replaced this past Sunday on an iPhone 6 I’ve had for three years. After having the phone back for less than 12 hours, it shut off for good, and the Apple store is telling me it’s due to water damage. The odd thing is the closest the phone got to water since I had it back was in the bathroom with me while I took a shower (steam buildup I guess?). I have done that for the majority of the time I’ve owned my phone so I’m fairly surprised that this ruined the phone coincidentally so quickly after getting the new battery.
My question is: after replacing the battery, do iPhones ‘lose their seal’ to an extent such that they’re more susceptible to water damage?
Or alternatively, is it possible that somehow there was water in the phone for a long time and it just started to act up at an inopportune time?
Any feedback greatly appreciated!
