How can I unlock a “stolen” iPhone X for my carrier and use it?
Recently my cousin lost her iPhone X. She put it in lost/stolen mode, (I honestly don’t know all the details though) and accidentally deleted it from Find My iPhone/iCloud. She found it a while later but by this time she had already gotten a new iPhone. She said I could have the lost one, but upon booting up, it was set to disabled. (Not surprising) So I restored it via iTunes, It asked for her Apple ID/old passcode which she had, so I actually managed to activate it and I’m typing on it as I make this post. The phone works, but it’s AT&T only, but it is paid off as she paid full freaking price for the phone. So naturally I wanted to use it as my main phone except it doesn’t work with T-Mobile. I tried sending an unlock request to AT&T but when I gave my IMEI, it says, “It appears this device has been stolen or lost.”
So…how do I get around this?
