iPhone 5 in lost mode
TLDR: Lent my iPhone 5, friend did not give it back. It’s been 2 months but I finally put it in “Lost Mode”. Can it still be blocked/be put in lost mode in case he changed the Apple ID?
Okay so I know an iPhone 5 is pretty worthless today but I have my reasons. Wall of text incoming so if you want to go straight to my question, skip the next 2 paragraphs. (Or refer to the TLDR above)
I lent my iPhone 5 to a friend who was in a bad place. I just had it laying around so I was like why not. Since it was MY phone which he was supposed to be JUST borrowing, I had Find My iPhone set up. I think he used my Apple ID (don’t worry, it’s different from the one I’m using on my personal phone and I didn’t have a credit card linked) for practically everything he did (don’t judge, it was my first time even bothering to look through the info he had there and there were nudes. I really did not need to see that)
Fast forward to today, it’s been 2 months since he even bothered reaching out and he still has my phone. You might say I’m stupid for even lending it in the first place but oh well nothing I can do about that now! Hind sight is 20/20
Sooo my question is: I activated “Lost Mode” on iCloud and it shows my phone is offline. I checked the iPhone data and it’s still showing the IMEI and serial number. If he goes online, will it still be blocked/be in lost mode? Not sure if he’s even smart enough to change the Apple ID cause literally his nudes are on the phone’s cloud.
