64GB 6s Storage Full Message, even after deleting. Help or advice?
I’m running iOS 11.4.1; use iCloud Photo Library, with “Optimize iPhone Storage” checked. I’ve cleared out gigs of attachments on Messages as well, and offload unused apps.
iPhone storage is showing I have about 38.61gb of storage being used by photos (no surprise, I’ve had this phone for almost three years since my kid was born). However, I’ve backed up to Google Photos as well to try and clear out space. When I delete huge blocks of photo and video, the storage bar shows maybe half a gig or so freeing up, but then when I check back again, it goes back up. I’m continuously deleting photos and videos and my phone is still saying it’s full. The lowest I’ve seen it go down to was 59g used, but somehow it went back up to full at 64g being used up.
I am also going to the recently deleted folder to empty it out, but my phone storage status still is being marked as full.
Does anyone know why it would be doing this? Or whats the best way to free up more storage?
Edit: Soft restore initially gave me a few gigs back, but then went back up to giving me “Storage Full” message. I tried backing up and restoring and that worked and cleared about 45GB. Thanks all.
