Do you think Apple should release a desktop touch bar?
I have a Macbook Pro and never use the touch bar for anything besides touchid, volume adjustment, and hitting the esc key. It may have potential, but:
1) It is only available on the highest end newest MacBook Pros. Not iMac/Pros, other laptops, etc.
2) If you close your laptop or elevate it to use at a desk, you lose access to the touch bar.
3) As a developer, why would I work hard to add touchbar support that I know only a fraction of my customers could use?
I’d love for them to make an independant touchpad with touchID that is designed to sit in front of my keyboard (perhaps with a handy usbc slot or two). Once the tech is available for everyone, we’ll see it used more in apps.
Apologies if this idea has been talked about before, but he Mac Mini update news brought it back.
