I just upgraded to the iphone 7 and now I’m SO glad none of the ipads or the pros use the more “premium” haptic touch home button.
I really thought I would get used to it. The haptic click track pads on the macbooks feel pretty good. But this newer home button wasn’t executed with as much realism. The feedback “click” is just slightly late every time. The worst part it that it’s distracting. Every time I wake the, which is maybe 50 times a day, it’s a distraction. I never felt that way with the iPads.
Edit: Also it seems to be capacitative, and less sensitive than the screen. So it doesn’t click with gloves. Cold climate and motorcyclists etc, are screwed. This also makes it impossible to enter the lock screen using the home button.
