iTunes won’t recognize iPhone X but will recognize iPhone 6S
I bought an iPhone X last week and used iTunes on my computer (late 2011 15″ MacBook Pro with the latest version of High Sierra) to restore it from a backup of my old iPhone 6s. That worked totally fine except all my music somehow didn’t transfer on to it. I tried today to connect the phone to iTunes to sync my music library and now I can’t get iTunes to recognize the X at all. If I plug in my old iPhone 6s it comes up in iTunes in the left side bar like it is supposed to but plugging in the X makes the phone charge and nothing else happens. If I go into “reset location and privacy” in the phone and clear it plugging it in to the computer gives the “Trust this computer” message on the phone and the “Do you want to allow this computer to make changes on gmlubetech’s iPhone” message. If I click trust this computer and allow computer to make changes in iTunes and on the phone it still doesn’t come up in iTunes. It doesn’t give any error messages in iTunes or on the phone. I’ve tried restarting the phone, iTunes, and the computer many times and it made no difference. Don’t know what else I can try.
