iPhone 7 Crashing after 2 years? Is this normal life expectancy or is their a deeper problem?
Hi! Looking for some advice from people who hopefully know more than me about iPhones. I bought a new iPhone 7 from Verizon two years ago. Yesterday, a week after I updated my phone, it has gone to complete shit:
-Won’t respond to touch
-Screen blacking out
-Often says “No service” even in the comfort of my own home
-Keeps giving me notifications of “message failed to send”, but from 200-300 days ago?!
I have tried everything from turning it on and off, hard reset, removing/reinserting sim card, and nothing has worked. I took it to Verizon Wireless and they didn’t offer a single solution. They basically just gave me options on upgrading/replacing my phone. They won’t replace it for free because there’s a small crack in the screen. The phone is in good condition other than the small crack and has no water damage or internal damages that I know of.
I really can’t afford a new phone. The nonchalant reactions from the Verizon employees made me feel as if it’s normal for Apple to start making “older” models become problematic after updates so that I will be forced to buy a newer model. I use the term “older” lightly in my situation because I did not think an iPhone 7 was old. Is 2 years a normal life expectancy for an iPhone 7? Is there any way to beat the system here? Any useful tips on potentially solving the problem/fixing my phone? Has any one experienced these problems before?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Sorry for the typo in the title. There* not their.
Edit 2: I did not notice a problem with battery life at all before or after my phone shit the bed.
