iPhone XR Review after a week
iPhone XR 64GB Product Red
Let me just start off by saying wow, the screen on the iPhone XR is pretty damn good coming from an iPhone 7. The quality of the display is good, pictures are sharp and the brightness levels are perfect.Honestly people who complain about the screen are just sad,*cough* jerryrigeverything* it might not be 1080p but it does a damn good job. I have held and used an iPhone X before and whilst the blacks are not that inky, telling the difference requires you to look really closely at the screen imo.
The lack of the 3D touch hasn’t bothered me at all,I never used it when it was announced and I just thought it was an extra step to get to places. However the only think I did use 3D touch for was the cursor functionality. However apple has replaced that with a Long press to the space bar which works.
Build quality as always from apple products are amazing the phone feels solid a bit heavy but extremely well built. The size switch coming from the iPhone 7 took some time getting use to but it wasen´t that big of a deal however I do find myself using reachability much more when using the phone one handed. My only gripe would be the slippery combination of glass and aluminum.
While I have only had the phone for a week, the battery holds up pretty well nothing to impressive, it last throughout the day with some light browsing, YouTube watching, reddit browsing and snap chatting. Charging for me takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes ish.
I haven’t tried the wireless charging capability yet but I hope it works fine.The phone gets a little hot while charging but nothing big.
Now the performance is just amazing everything is so unbelievable fast opening apps, switching app. The animations are so smooth, I havent had any hiccups at all.However maybe its just me but ram management dosen´t seem to be that good sometimes my apps just get closed but this could just be me.
This here is amazing coming from Touch ID I had my doubts about Face ID.But it blew me out of the park with the new Chip. The whole process is unbelievably fast sometimes I can just pull it out and look at it and I am in. Huge props to apple. Even at night the Face ID is just fast however of course if I am to close it can’t read my face but that’s understandable.
Personally for me the speakers weren’t that loud as I was expecting but maybe its just me. They are loud but just something about them is off imo, but the addition of dual speaker is a great addition.
Not gonna lie I am not really a camera person, I mean what can I say portrait mode works and the iPhone camera has always been good . In terms of light exposure and aperture I don’t really know. But its fast and takes good pictures so it works fine for me.
For the price of 749 USD its a pretty good deal yes I know it dosent have a 1080p screen but I mean are you really gonna stare and count the pixels.. Well no or maybe you do I dunno. For me it checked all the boxes
* -Not an outrageous price
* -Fast processor and performance
* -Bigger screen over the iPhone 7
* -Face ID
* -And apparently the best battery of any iPhone
