Is it unreasonable to expect my devices not to be obsolete within ten years?
We have a number of Apple products including a couple iPhone 8’s. iPad, iPad 2, mini, Apple TV 2 & 3, Mac 2012. I noticed last week that none of the iPads will play Netflix which we used them primarily for the treadmill. We haven’t touched the original iPad in years but the iPad 2 we purchased used a few years ago from apple. I understand there’s always a push forward-faster is better, more memory, and capacity, etc. I thought about updating to a newer version but when I think about the older ones and how useless they are, I think it’s just a bad investment. Why do I want to pay for something I know I won’t be able to use? We’ve contended with using a slower device with a few hiccups-shouldn’t that be the penance for not upgrading? Or maybe my expectations are too high?
