Weird WiFi issue. Hardware? Software?
Wanted to ask here if anyone has experienced a similar problem.
I have an iPhone 6s Plus and the WiFi performance on it is very odd.
Basically, it kind of sporadically stops loading things for a number of seconds, and then resumes loading things for a bit…then will freeze again.
For example, if I’m scrolling through my YouTube subscriptions feed everything will be loading smoothly as I scroll down…but then suddenly no thumbnails beyond a certain point will load/have been loaded and the phone also will stop loading any other videos lower down. It’s almost like someone is flipping a switch and turning off the internet for 5-10 seconds, then turning it back on for a bit.
I mainly notice it with apps like YouTube, twitch, scrolling through reddit and doing internet searches because in those activities any sudden loss of connection is immediately noticed, because you’re constantly loading new things in.
No other devices on my home WiFi exhibit this behavior and I experience the same thing when my phone is connected to other WiFi sources.
I’ve dropped the phone plenty of times in the years now that I’ve owned it. Maybe it’s a slightly damaged/loose antenna? Figured I’d check here Incase this is something software related that others and have dealt with already.
