Apple would be in so much crap if they didn’t show support for older iPhones
Think about it. If Apple did not show that incredibly long list of “supported iPhones” at the event they unveiled updates to iOS, people would be furious at having to buy new $1000+ iPhones.
Of course, there is the XR, but still, people upgrading from “flagship” phones from all the way back to 2013 (5s) might want current flagships—XS or XS Max, which are much more expensive now.
Good thing many people can keep their phones a little longer now. Either way, the norm seems to be new flagship iPhones slowly creeping passed $1000.
I’m currently on a 6s looking to upgrade, likely will end up paying $1000 in the end.
