Tip for users of the new Macbook Air with Retina Display
I had the opportunity to compare the new Macbook Air side by side with a 13” Macbook Pro with Touch Bar. Although the MBP is obviously brighter, the colors on the new Macbook Air seemed pretty washed out to me in comparison to the MBP.
On your Macbook Air, if you open System Preferences -> Displays -> Color, and then select the “Generic RGB Profile”, I find that it more closely mimics the higher contrast of the 13” Macbook Pro that I had been used to and in my opinion looks a lot less “washed out”.
Obviously some may disagree and prefer the standard color settings, and that’s fine. Just figured I’d share in case it helps someone out.
