Thoughts on the iPad Pro and its future
They should introduce MacOS touch for the newer iPad Pros and retain iOS for the iPad for the general users. iOS is already perfect for non-pros. The new iPad Pros warrants an entire restructuring of iOS if they really want it to become a productive machine. If they add features exclusively for iPad Pros on iOS 13, that would make the iOS experience very inconsistent among the iOS devices. At least give the Pro lineup something familiar to work with such as MacOS just made for touch.
I’m honestly surprised they didn’t do this with the new iPad Pros. I think introducing MacOS touch for Arm (exclusively for touch devices) is a great way to move development to their A+ series chips. That would ease the transition from x86 to Arm if they are planning to ditch x86 for Arm on their future Macbook lineups.
Moreover, I was kind of expecting that they will actually ditch iPad Pro branding in the future and move it to Mac and name it something like Macbook Slate that will go head to head with Surface.
