Screen Mirror with iPad Screen Off?
I apologize if this is a crazy or stupid question, but I just got a USB C dock for my iPad Pro 11. It’s the first time I’ve ever tried to use an iPad with an external display. It seems to be working fine. I plugged it in, connecting my television, and everything shows up on my main screen and my iPad screen. Well not everything, I tried a few apps for TV streaming and noticed one detects and blocks the external display, but that’s a separate issue. So my question is how, if it’s possible, do I watch something on the external display wall turning off the display on the iPad itself?
I tried just turning off the display on the iPad, but then it turns off on the television as well. I tried turning it on at the lock menu and pressing the play button for the paused video, and that resumes the audio for it on my television but not the actual video. I can’t find any way to do what I’m trying to do, and Imagine I’m not the only person who would find this feature quite useful. Or would be nice to watch movies and whatnot in a hotel room or while traveling without having both screens on at the same time.
So is it possible?
