Effects on battery health of placing phone on and off wireless charger constantly?
I recently got an XS Max as my real first expensive phone, and I plan on keeping it for longer than my S7 lasted. One thing i’d like to preserve is the battery life. I won’t be fast charging because apple’s energy management is really good. My S7 I neglected a bit, it was always in power saving mode but i’d always fast charge and charge to 100% and do full discharges, 2 and a half years later my battery life is estimated 62%, which is awful.
Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone else who maybe switched from Android which had wireless charging for much longer knew if interrupting the wireless charging cycle constantly to answer texts might generate a lot more heat or be detrimental to battery life? I want to get a charging pad for work, because the outlets are on the floor above my desk and it’s a hassle to route a wire up to my chair, but I don’t want to jack the battery up. I know that a wireless charger with no fan or poor cooling will heat up the phone and battery quite a bit, but I don’t want to bring my cable and constantly unplug my phone either, wearing the lightning port out. That happened on my old iPod.
