I final get it.
So I like to think I’ve been pretty deep in the Apple ecosystem for a while now.
I’ve had two macs, four iPhones, two Apple watches, four homepods and AirPods Over the past 7 years. I’ve enjoyed having all these incredibly.
But I’ve never had a huge need or desire for an iPad. I’ve always felt like it wasn’t very necessary. I felt that between my Mac and iPhone they covered all the bases for my technology needs. I get work and media consumption done mainly on my Mac when I’m at home. And my phone was perfect for on the go creation and media needs. I never felt like the iPad would offer me anything incredibly different from what I’ve already had.
I couldn’t have been more wrong. I recently sprung for a 64 GB 11” IPad pro. Holy cow the storage optimization for iCloud Photo Library and Apple Music is so killer. I’m able to have my 150 GB photo Library and my 60 GB music library with me and I didn’t have to shell out more money for the higher storage like I thought I would. I’ve been using this machine for over a month now and I’m absolutely blown away by how much of a joy it is to use this thing. I haven’t been able to put this thing down. I find my self reading more since it’s much more comfortable to read books on here than my phone or Mac. In fact I hardly ever find myself using my Mac unless I want to make a Keynote or use Final Cut. And this screen is to die for. Never realized how nice a 120 refresh rate could make such a difference even when I’m just switching between apps.
The smart folio case is also so much fun snapping on and off. I find myself playing with the magnetic back when I’m just browsing the web. It makes me feel like I’m clicking a pen when I use to study in college.
I use to roll my eyes whenever Apple would say that iPad is the future of computers. And after finally using one I think they are right or at least for most people who don’t need pro apps
Sorry for the wall of text. I just don’t really have a place to nerd out about this kind of stuff.
