Just switched to iPhone, never used one before. What are some apps I need to have?
I’ve used Android and Windows phone for years, and wanted to try something new. Got a used 6 and I’m loving it so far. I want to list some of my favorite things about it so far, and some of the walls I’m bumping into. I’m curious if there are any apps that work with what I like, or improve on something else.
First off: TouchID is awesome. Love unlocking my phone without tapping a combination, or being able to use it to unlock my password manager. OS is fast and smooth. Camera might be the best I’ve ever used in a phone, and it’s only close with the Lumua 1520. Bluetooth works better with my car than the three androids I’ve tried.
Keyboard was okay. Can’t do it without swipe typing though, so I replaced it with Swiftkey, but I don’t like having to switch back and forth to get the dictation button that Swiftkey is sorely lacking. Shortcuts is amazing, but I hope it gets updated soon so I can use it with Siri without an error.
I found a to do list app that I really like, but it doesn’t have a web or PC app, so I’m still looking to see if there’s something better.
Only big issue is the battery is in rough shape. Shows 81%, sometimes will drop from 90% to 19 then stay there for several hours. Sometimes it’ll just instantly shut down, and then it’s a coin toss in whether it’ll have enough charge to turn back on. I’ve got a battery case and I’m just keeping a cord on me as a backup. It’s mostly been an annoyance, but I can deal with it until I’m able to do a battery replacement.
So, anything else cool that I should check out? Other stuff that I should download? Tweaks that I should make? Thanks!
