Microsoft Office on iPad Pro
I recently purchased the 11″ iPad Pro which I intend to use alongside my work laptop for note taking etc.
I downloaded OneNote, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Then after attempting to open a word document, noticed I couldn’t edit or save without an Office 365 subscription.
I work for a large corporate company who provide me with an MSDN Visual Studio Developer subscription. This seems to provide licenses for pretty much all Microsoft software I’ve ever needed, all the time, which I use on my Windows 10 DELL laptop. I figured this license/subscription covered everything – it’s very expensive! It also includes licenses for Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019 (which I’ve used for Windows/Mac computers).
On top of that, my work also provide an “Office 2019 for Home Use Program” (HUP) which allows employees to purchase an office license for very cheap.
But even with all of that, am I still completely unable to use Office applications on an iPad without a separate new Office 365 subscription? It seems kind of absurd! I just wanted to check with reddit brain-trust if I’ve missed something.
