Switching to Apple from Android – is my reasoning sound?
I’ve been on the android train since I scrapped my blackberry in about 2011 or so. I’ve always been a PC person (and that’s not going to change), and I was an edgy 20 something rejecting apple.
In more recent times, I’ve become hyper aware of data misuse, and now that I’m in a position to afford it I feel like Apple might be the better choice.
I’m currently using a Huawei P20 Pro (I’m UK based so it’s not an import). I absolutely adore the hardware. It’s fast, insane camera, battery life goes on forever. I’m not excited about the manufacturer being beholden to the Chinese government.
I’m looking at buying an XR as a replacement for the P20 – what change in performance can I expect?
I’d also like to know is the overall reasoning of security sound? My understanding is that Apple does not sell or use your data, is willing to protect your data from spying, and overall makes it much easier to manage the data. Google being a data company and having such a fundamental integration with Android is concerning to me – is this justified?
Any advice, heads up or info anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I just ordered the XR. I’m impatient. Thank you everyone for the advice. I’d very much appreciate if people could keep telling me I’m right to switch because it feels good for my ego.
