Any chance Apple will bring ultrasonic fingerprint sensors to future iPads?
I recently switched from my iPhone 5s (been using it for 4 years) to an iPhone X, and the face detection unlocking mechanism is driving me crazy. If the phone is at an angle, such as when it is laying on a desk, it does not unlock. I use an iPad 10.5 256gb very heavily and am not planning to upgrade to the new iPad specifically for this reason — even though I would really like to use the newer pencil for easy undo options.
Is there any chance Apple will introduce in-screen fingerprint sensors (like the ultrasonic ones Samsung uses)? Lifting the iPad up while taking notes during meetings to unlock it seems absurd. And I don’t want to enter my passcode in front of people sitting next to me.
