Can someone explain to me why apple got hate for allowing smart TVs to have iTunes?
Maybe I’m just not in the apple bubble enough to understand, but I keep reading a lot of “cringe. Omg apple failed” comments in relation to the articles stating smart TVs will get update with iTunes this year. Why is that? Isn’t apple expanding their reach a good thing? Before, apple was seriously limited in who then could sell iTunes content to. If you didn’t have an Apple TV, you weren’t watching iTunes content on your tv therefore a lot of people just weren’t buying movies and tv shows. But now that functionality will be built in along with airplay support.
Seems like a win for everybody right? Hell. I can even sell my Apple TV and use the tv’s built in ui to watch my movies.
