I love my Airpods for listening to music, but they are unusable for voice calls
I’m happy to see that most people are happy with their Airpods and don’t need them to be upgraded now with ehe Airpods 2 apparently on their way.
Sadly that’s not the case for me, because i’m frequently having voice calls with Apps like Discord, or even just the normal phone functionality, to talk with people while i’m outside.
The battery only lasts HALF as long when you’re talking and their so called “noise cancelling” is literally nonexistent. It’s even the opposite, instead of cancelling backgroung noise they are amplifying it. I literally can’t use them to talk when there are ANY noises near me, like cars, people, anything, because it apparently sounds like hell for other people in my voice call. This is not a problem with the normal earpods by Apple, which i’m using instead of the Airpods now because of that, so the money is pretty wasted. The normal earpods are not picking up background noise AT ALL, according to the people in my voice calls.
The thing is that the mic of the normal airpods is even farther away from your mouth than the two mics of the Airpods, so i don’t really get why it is that way.
Also i don’t get why they are advertising noise cancellation when there obviously is none. I really counted on that when buying so i feel a bit ripped off to be honest.
I really hope they improve one of the main things people want to do with them: Voice calls.
Maximum 2 hours of horrible voice call quality are not what Apple should be aiming for.
