2016 MacBook Pro keyboard much-improved after repair
Like many of the owners, my MacBook Pro 15″ 2016 started to show various keyboard problems about two years after initial purchase, including sticky keys, squeaky noise, etc. Recently, the down arrow stopped responding completely. So I had to take it to the Apple store. The process was pretty smooth and I got my MacBook Pro back in 3 days. To my surprise, the keyboard feels much better after repair. It is definitely not the same keyboard as the original 2016 version. The icons on control, option, and command keys are the updated version. The keys feel much more bouncy and responsive. But I’m not sure whether they used the 2017 version keyboard or the 3rd Gen butterfly on the 2018 version.
Overall, I would really suggest those 2016 owners pay a visit to Apple store if there is any slight problem with your keyboard.
