Having subscriptions through iTunes is amazingly convenient.
To make a long story short; I had to sign up for essentially a 1 day membership to Boston globe. They had a 2 week free trial, great.
Well after I found what I needed I went to cancel, but got distracted with work.
Well I think it’s pretty human to forget about a free trial. So I get charged 27 bucks when 2 weeks is over.
I see the text from my bank, and immediately went to go login to cancel. Well, somehow, I don’t have my login stuff (it’s saved in my keychain) and I get an error when going to reset my password that I don’t even have an account. Was going to call them, but couldn’t call while at work.
I forgot about it, again, and get charged again. Today I had some time. I go to login, it works flawlessly now. And am looking to cancel. No way to cancel. I see no options to adjust my subscription. A google search reveals I have to call in to cancel. In 2019, I have to call them to cancel my subscription.
If I had the billing through iTunes I could’ve prevented an auto-renew immediately after signing up, or at any point in the next two months. I was charged 54 dollars for one stupid thing I just “had to have”.
Only way to cancel a subscription to Boston globe is to call in, which I learned after having a horrendous trying to cancel online and after being charged twice. It’s easier to manage through iTunes.
