Getting sporadic temperature warnings, but phone is cool to the touch.
iPhone 8, all software up to date, not jailbroken or modified, no history of repair, water exposure, or other mishaps. Battery health reports at 97%.
The last week or two, I’ve been getting “iPhone needs to cool down” warnings seemingly at random. I’m not doing anything processor heavy in high heat, just scrolling Reddit, listening to podcasts, or playing light games in an air conditioned room. It goes away after about a minute, even if I don’t move it to a cooler place, and the phone remains cool to the touch the whole time. I even shot it with an IR thermometer last time, and the body of the phone is room temperature. I tried shutting down all apps and restarting, and that got rid of it for 3-4 days, but it’s popping up again.
Where do you think I should start trouble shooting this, or is it time to just make a warranty claim?
