An extremely underrated feature of the X series
One very underrated yet amazing, quality of life feature that not a lot of people seem to talk about with the 10 series of iPhones, is the fact that notifications and phone calls alike are significantly lowered in volume/muted when the phone knows that it has your attention. Before, whenever one would get a notification on previous iPhones, the phone would ring out at whatever volume the user had it set to. So, if the volume was on maximum, then they and everyone else around them would get blasted by a text or email chime.
Now, with the help of Face ID, the iPhone X/S/R know exactly when you’re looking at it and in turn, delivers notifications in a much quieter and less obnoxious manner. Even when one isn’t looking at their phone and they get a call for example, the second that they put their eyes on the phone, it quiets itself down. It’s almost as though the device is saying, “oops, sorry, I didn’t mean to yell, but you have a call coming in.”
It’s honestly something so small, and yet makes a world of a difference when using these phones day to day, and has become one of my favorite features. Again, quality of life stuff that just makes the ten series a pleasure to use.
EDIT: I just started using an XS Max 256 GB really only a few days ago, so my apologies if this has already been discussed beforehand. I just thought that was so cool, haha.
