3D Touch actions deprecated in iOS 13 and may be fully removed by iOS 14
I was looking through the API changes for iOS 13 and noticed many 3D Touch-related APIs are deprecated, such as the [Peek and Pop APIs](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/uikit/uiviewcontroller?changes=latest_minor#1654454).
Usually (and I haven’t seen an exception to this ever in iOS), when Apple deprecates an API, it will be removed completely, usually by the next iOS version. I know we’ve seen rumors they were getting rid of 3D Touch, but this pretty much confirms that 3D Touch is dead going forward. Which makes sense given no one knows about it. Also, it was a very fragmented API to use given how many non-3D Touch iOS devices there are (all iPads, iPhone SE, iPhone XR). From a dev perspective, it was always better to instead use a long-press since it’ll work everywhere 100% of the time rather than a 3D-Touch press that you’d just have to copy the functionality _again_ to a long-press for devices that didn’t support 3D Touch.
Also, no, Haptic Touch does not replace 3D Touch. It’s literally just a long press with haptic feedback, but in the general sense of things, it’s still a long-press (which was always the more common secondary touch gesture in iOS).
