Why do so many people shit on the iPads usability?
So I picked up the iPad mostly for notes. I got the 12.9″ Pro just because it is the size of a piece of paper and the edge to edge screen feels great. As soon as I started using it for ANYTHING else I realized how nice the interface is for literally everything. As a computer engineering student, I end up throwing a lot of different, somewhat abstract tasks at the machine and it handles it perfectly. Like document editing, modeling, programming, and a slew of other things way too well (other than FPGA synthesis because of Xilinx/Altera/etc). The interface, and the fact that for most actions you never have to take your hands off of the keyboard, feels like the most adept version of a GUI based interface possible.
So, why do so many people and or tech journalists shit on it? I could pile the links on from Engadget or LTT or whatever the hell else and they all say something along the lines of, “So fast! iPad interface bad!” Have they just used it for one day? Are they doing the shitty tech journalist pattern of making a report on a book they haven’t read? What the actual hell?
Does anybody here have anything to weigh in? Am I missing something?
