Am I the only one who thinks that Jon Ive’s departure from the company is a good thing for Apple and the iPhone? (Discussion)
I personally think that Ive has been put in a position where he can make extremely influential decisions when it comes to products, and as of late his influence has overpowered that if the engineers, market experts and financial heads to the point where his influence is at a level higher than Tim Cook’s. Ive does not have a degree in engineering. He does not have a degree in anything business related and he does not have a degree in finance.
Ive is not qualified to make the type of decisions he is making and ultimately he is hurting the products. Imagine if Apple actually made the Apple Watch a fashion item and strayed away from its functionality. I wonder how many similar campaigns by Ive were successful.
Jony Ive has reached a position in Apple in which he makes executive decisions on par with that of Tim Cook. He is not qualified to be making these and is hurting the products.
Edit: I feel like Ive’s future position in Lovefrom as a designer for Apple Is much better than the current arrangement as, even though his business decisions and expertise leave something to be desired, his design talent is unrivalled.
