Apple’s authorised service center claim that replacing battery on iPhone 6s might brick the motherboard and they aren’t responsible.
Right so my girlfriend wanted to keep on using her 6s but the battery had to be replaced.
There are no official Apple stores in our area but the official Apple’s authorised dealer and service provider does offer iPhone 6s battery replacement for $80.
However when she dropped off her phone, the service desk warned her that the 6 and 6s are known to brick during a battery replacements and they would not be liable if that would happen.
I’ve worked in a repair shop, never have I ever claimed that if a device would brick on my table that the shop wouldn’t be liable to repair what was broken so this sounds a bit odd.
We are in Europe if that matters (different consumer laws idk..)
**edit** I contacted Apple via. their own chatsupport, and yes, apple’s official service providers can deny responsibility for breaking devices during repair jobs.
