Is the iPad good for CAD files?
I’m on the fence about buying the ipad pro 2018 11″ right now. I mainly use autoCAD and sketchup but more importantly, I want to use this for site visits and meetings. For scale drawings(just simple sketches, maybe a layout of the area with dimensions and stuff) so I can continue the real work on a desktop, is the iPad good for this?
I hate that it does not have keyboard shortcuts or simple commands like Exploding blocks and Scale.
I’m also taking some C Programming lessons next week as a hobby of sorts, I know the iPad is not for coding and there is an app called Coda but what is the overall opinion on coding on the iPad.
I don”t need the iPad, but I also want it for site use but I need to be sure it will be useful because it’s a lot of money. I could get a laptop but it would just collect dust when I’m not at site whereas with the iPad, I could still browse social media, youtube, surf the web relatively freely.
Worse come to worse, I already set up Teamview and Remote Desktop to my Windows PC so I can do work like that.
I am kind of trying to convince myself its a worthy purchase… which sounds weird. Should I get the iPad now or wait til Sept or Oct for the next Apple conference to determine if there is a new version coming out.
