Do you think Apple will phase out the 128gb iPhone XR when the iPhone 11 models come out?
I’m in the market for a new iPhone.
My iPhone 7 just died and at this point, we’re close enough to the 2019 release that i can use an older iPhone while waiting. If I were absolutely forced to buy one now, I would buy the 128gb XR for about $800 + tax. I’m OK with that, but not any more than that.
My hope is that the 2019 ‘budget’ iPhone (i.e. the XR equivalent) is going to have a 128gb option, and cost around $800 as well. But if it isn’t, I’m OK with the current, 2018 iPhone XR, which hopefully will be re-priced even lower. My worry is that they will phase out the 128gb and offer only the 64 and 256gb versions, as they do with the Xs and Xs plus. Chances are the 256gb won’t be $800, even with a markdown.
From what you know or remember of their pricing and marketing strategies in the past, do you think the 128gb will go away?
