Is there any future for non-pro iPads? (non USB typ-C)
I got a cheap iPad gen 6 recently so I could make it onto iPad OS, but ngl I’m feeling a little abandoned finding out things like that I can only use the gen 1 pencil (which is fine I guess), and more importantly, that the lightning port is effectively useless aside from charging and earbuds, by which I mean that a lightning to USB type C cable won’t let me use and external hard drive or USB type C keyboard (was going to get a nice mechanical one when I get paid). I’ve been told the new OS fixes some of this, and the software features should catch up (although face unlock would be nice), but exactly how limited will I end up being by still having a lightning port? It’s capable of data transfer to at least some extent, but I’m unsure what is me being hardware gated, and what’s just features not existing in software yet.
