can we talk about the HomePod for a sec?
first off, I’m open to this being my error. but is anyone else as unhappy as I am with this thing?
I never intended to use it as a smart speaker. So don’t get me wrong. I think it’s a great idea and it’s gorgeous. It even sounds impressive for its size, which is why I got it for my desk, and maybe my hatred isn’t for it, but it’s Bluetooth connectivity. But man… do I dislike it lately.
It takes soooo long for my iPhone, Apple TV or MacBook Pro to connect to it, and even then, when it does, it’s confused, laggy, and crashes about 97% of the time. Does anyone else have this issue? I know this thing has never been met with great fanfare, but I can’t be the only one? Right?
Like… I just connected my iPhone X to a 10 + year old Bluetooth sound bar and it connected immediately. when I skip songs or move around in the song, it responds immediately. My HomePod? Takes about 20 seconds to connect (if it connects) and when I move around in the song, the lag is about 5-10 seconds, if it doesn’t crash my music app or timeout iTunes on my MacBook in the first place.
Anyone find any ways to speed this up? Or help the connectivity of it?
