Careful with you XS. Not so water resistant.
Hello all, I’m sure you’ve heard this story. Although mines a little different. No I didn’t jump in the ocean and no I wasn’t taking pictures under water.
I have an iPhone XS. It’s about 6 months old at this point. Always in a case. No scratches dents and the case is sturdy enough to prevent flex (in my opinion)
now my daughter who is 6 months and learning to crawl and climb knocked a glass with about 6 oz of water onto my phone. The phone was wet for less than 30 seconds. I dried it off and saw that the screen began flashing green (uhoh) I immediately turned it off and placed it in rice.
After talking with apple customer service I scheduled an appointment 45 miles away. It took them ages past my appointment date to see me and when it was my turn explained liquid damage isn’t covered.
I recounted my experience and asked why their ads show it being ran under water and dropping in pools if they weren’t going to stand behind their water resistance claims. “oh I don’t make the policy”
Now I have $1000 dollar paperweight and have to wait however long for assurion to send my refurbished iPhone for $300
Rant over. IDK why they rate something for 2 meters for 30 minutes when it can’t handle 15 seconds of a few ounces of water with realtively no pressure behind it.
