Help Me Understand…What Happened to My Stolen iPhone?
In the middle of March, my iPhone (XS Max) was stolen from me. I noticed maybe 3 minutes after it was stolen that it was gone. I immediately went on find my iPhone, however, it was already offline. The find my iPhone “lost mode” has been pending ever since. I check it every now and then out of curiosity (no hope of getting it back).
My question is, what do you think the thief did with it? They couldn’t wipe it and use it considering not only did I have faceID and 6 digit pass-code, but you need to enter apple ID password to disable find my iPhone before wiping anyway, right? Do you think they’re are just using it with no data connection at all (what a waste if so!). I live in a big city so maybe they sell them off to people for parts?
I am just curious at this point, any food for thought is appreciated. Thank you.
