TIL: When initiating Siri on a MacBook Pro, the fans are temporarily silenced, allowing for clearer speech detection.
Today I was loading some pretty intensive tasks on my MacBook Pro (2018), the fans were roaring as the CPU was nearly running at max.
I was getting bored waiting for something to load in and thought about asking Siri about the weather.
I did the classic “Hey Siri”, but then stopped to hear silence. The fans had turned off, I then let Siri fade away and just like that the fans are running at full again.
It makes complete sense when you think about it.
Completely useless knowledge I know, but cool nonetheless.
