iPhone X Face ID & all camera/flash broken. Apple didn’t help
I’ve had my iPhone X for about 2 years now, and it’s been fairly fine, except for a few glitches. I haven’t experienced a phone that doesn’t glitch once in a while, so I figured that was fine.
Anyway, a few days ago I noticed my phone wasn’t even scanning my face for Face ID. I checked the cameras, and they were all black when I tried to use them. The flash would not turn on either, so I assumed something had disconnected internally, which I can do nothing about. Just took it to the apple store today, and the lady pretty much said: “Yup, you’re phone can’t really be fixed easily, and would cost as much as a new phone to repair.”Told me it would be about $500 for a new phone (I have no Apple care because my phones have never failed me before). I’ve seen posts in this sub about people’s phones getting replaced for free from this happening to them, so I guess they either had apple care or were still under warranty.
TL:DR IPhone X that’s out of warranty and no apple care had all cameras/flash (including Face ID) suddenly stop working. Apple just offered to replace for $500.
