Can I use an Air 10.5″ with *wired* monitor, keyboard, and mouse?
This is a possibility I’m exploring for an elderly friend. For maintenance and performance reasons I’d like to move him away from his Windows PC and to an iPad for everything – the software he needs is there, but I’m not sure about the physical setup.
He travels often and during that time will use the iPad untethered with a keyboard cover. However, when he’s at home he’s accustomed to working at a large monitor with a keyboard and mouse. It sounds like you can connect an iPad to an external HDMI display, and iOS13 is adding mouse support. So I’m pretty confident I can do what I’m asking about with Bluetooth peripherals (please correct me if I’m wrong).
Really, though, *I* don’t like dealing with batteries in my peripherals, and we’re talking about an old guy here. Ideally I want him to be able to plug in a single Lightning cable and have a wired USB keyboard, wired USB mouse, HDMI monitor, and charging. I don’t care how many dozens of adapters I have to stack together, as long as it all comes down to a single physical connection in the end. Is this realistic?
