Apple Watch is great for fitness, but missing something key.
Apple Watch is great for fitness, but it’s primarily focused on calorie burning and keeping your heart rate up. This is great, as a large number of people are looking to burn calories, but there are plenty of people who aren’t. Bodybuilders, or people just looking to put on some muscle mass, have the opposite desire. They want to keep calories high, and train hard. I recognize that this is tough for a smart watch to be integrated into, but it would be nice to see Apple add functionality to the Apple Watch that isn’t focused on burning calories. Case in point, why is the least calorie burn option 10 calories a day and not zero?
