Has anyone else noticed that TV.app is far worse than iTunes ever was?
First you don’t have your wishlist anymore. Say goodbye to that when you upgrade. Then they managed to actually make it far worse than iTunes navigation of the store ever was.
Everything is listed at “movie poster” images as if you know all over them by heart. No brand recognition? Sorry you’ll NEVER find what you want.
The search engine is pretty hideous. It doesn’t even do partial filters. Want only movies starting with “M”? Because that’s all you remember of the name? Go F yourself!
Want to find movies by actors, directors, release decade, release year, subgenre, etc. NOPE. You lost even that feature from iTunes.
It seems they are merely running the Apple TV device app in the iOS Catalyst emulator! And nothing more than that.
It’s almost like it was written by someone who doesn’t even like TV, movies, etc. And has NEVER thought of the user interactions, user processes or usability even ONCE. It’s mostly a “Karen interface” – mainstream only and brand only.
And they certainly didn’t bother to even alphabetize what you see! I can only guess that it’s vaguely sorted by what they are pushing or what is selling because no other pattern is discernible.
And the very basic changes that iTunes obviously needed even 10 years ago? Not a single one. This is one step forward and 30 steps backward!
Even I’m wondering if Apple has utterly lost its touch and I’m a many decade Apple fanboy. This is really garbage!
Music isn’t great but it’s not as much of a loss of features as TV is!
