Discussion: the 5th gen 16 inch MBP is not that great of a generational upgrade
It’s been 5.5 years since the first windows laptops have gotten 4k displays and many more years since 4k content became available. To produce a machine like this marketed towards pros and video editing and not be able to see the finished product in all the resolution is not that ‘Pro’. It at best seems like an incremental improvement. It every year that people are asking for a bigger battery, more storage, more ram, and faster processors, higher resolution webcam. This first model of the new generation has the same processors and webcam resolution as the last model, although the rest have been upgraded. Things besides processing specs should be what people focus on for the MBP 16. If we view the new keyboard as using old technology, the biggest difference in this generation is the bigger screen, microphones, speakers, and something else that I might be missing. These improvements are welcomed of course, but professionals likely have a 4k screen that they need to plug into, a dedicated mic, and dedicated speakers. I will note that these features are good for when you’re on the go though. Thoughts?
