iCloud, iMessage, and Apple Watch on Android
My thoughts –
It’ll happen, but probably in 2-3 years. Apple won’t release a standalone Messages app for Android; it’ll release a MDM-like solution for iCloud on Android and it’ll bundle storage, Reminders, Notes, Photos, and Messages. It’ll charge something like $14.99 for 50GB of iCloud storage and access to these apps. More importantly, this will bring full Apple Watch support to Android as well.
Why? Apple continues to see declining iPhone sales, and increasing Wearables sales. Wearables will soon be bigger than Mac, and the upcoming rumored AR glasses will add to this. Services are growing significantly. Both of these are positioned to be the growth engine for Apple for the next decade. Having Android users across the world buying Apple watches, AirPods, and having a recurring subscription will be very valuable for Apple in order to sustain their growth for the next decade.
Edit: I always knew that this sub was stuck up its own ass, but the close-monded nature of the responses here is mind-boggling. A lot of thinly veiled superiority complexes within these posts.
I’ll make this point clear – I use multiple Apple products and they’re great. iPhone 11 Pro, iPad Pros, Apple watch, and Airpods. Excellent ecosystem. But I use Android as well since I find the hardware to be excellent and innovative like the Fold I’m posting from now.
Maybe my idea is far-fetched, sure. But the amount of hate toward this idea is staggeringly disappointing.
For those of you who feel like you’re better because you’re Team Apple and don’t want Apple to be tainted by Android – good luck in life.
